Full Moon Rising, Hervey Bay
This photo was one of those unexpected moments... Busy photographing the Urangan Pier, I turned around and saw this. The full moon rising over Fraser Island. With the tide rushing in like it does in Hervey Bay, I only had a few minutes to get this right... but what a beautiful few minutes it was.

Another sunrise series from the Rocks of Point Vernon... this time looking north, we capture the angry clouds on the horizon and a touch of light on the rocks, reflecting in the small puddles of water. I hope these take your breath away... Enjoy!!!

This silhouette was another... "just give it a go" moment. Not much was happening so I tried a few different angles and came away with this.

After capturing the silhouette, on one side, I walk to the other and waited for the sun to touch the jetty... just lovely...

What a moment... a flock of seagulls scampering across the water... combined with an almost blood red sunset. I just happened to have the right lens and be in the right position... I guess I'm just lucky... mabye, maybe not?

An early rise today... at least 30 minutes before the sun rose, I wandered down to the jetty at Torquay Beach. A few early morning walkers gathering behind me, thought there was nothing to see... little did they know I was armed and dangerous with my trusty camera and a very long exposure. There were colours in the scene that only a long exposure could see... if only they knew!!! Notice the little boat out there just to the right of the jetty... it's the only thing which breaks the symmetry of the image.

A short time before sunrise, and again I wandered down to the jetty at Torquay Beach. The regular early morning walkers who gathered behind me, thinking there was nothing to see, were now starting to head home... a little magic just for me... and you.

The sun had gone behind some clouds, so I thought "I'm done here, let's wander around a bit and fill in some time"... a few minutes later a beautiful pink light came through to light up the sky and water... click click click.

I love the character of the Urangan Pier along with the stillness of the early hours of the morning. With the sun still to show itself and the pier lights still on, I patiently waited for the right moment... and here it is.

While testing some new equipment, I wandered down to the pier on another early morning adventure on the Urangan Pier. I thought I was the only one there... but soon after I had set up my camera, about 20 or 30 other photographers showed up. Me being the quiet type, I retreated down the beach and took this one... I wonder if they captured the same shot?
